WinnDevelopment’s compliment to the emerging Hamilton Canal Innovation District – 125 residential units and a 4,172 SF commercial space along the Pawtucket Canal – is scheduled for completion this Spring and is looking great. The Edge Group, Inc. is leasing agent for the canal level office/technology space. Immediate to the UMass Lowell I-Hub and the new Lowell Judicial Center, features include a canal side private patio, state of the art clean air systems, and the opportunity to be a pioneering part of the innovation district. Sketches of the space are shown here.
The development was announced last year by Winn Development President and Managing Partner, Larry Curtis, as follows:
“This project will advance our goal to increase the supply of quality housing that is affordable for all income levels,” said WinnDevelopment President and Managing Partner Larry Curtis. “It will be a true mixed-income community, offering a mix of affordable, middle-income and market rate units that support local and state housing goals, as well as Lowell’s desire to stimulate economic activity downtown. This strong public-private partnership provides a model for how we can expand access to quality housing in underserved communities going forward. Winn Companies is committed to promoting social equity and economic opportunity through our mixed-income development projects.”
The Lowell project will join four other workforce housing developments completed by WinnDevelopment in the past two years, including two in Boston, MA, one in Quincy, MA, and one in Rochester, NY.
