Meet Jeana DeBenedetto

by | Mar 22, 2024

Jeana DeBenedetto was born in Malden and grew up in Billerica, MA. Her dad worked for the Commonwealth in the Department of Youth Services for more than 40 years. She was inspired by him and the work he did, working with young boys, many of whom faced challenges at home.  She refers to her dad as her best friend and when it came to thinking about a career, she wanted to make an impact on the world like her Dad. As she started college at UMass Lowell, she pursued a major in criminal justice despite him encouraging her to take a different path including becoming a lawyer. As she embarked on her courses in criminal justice, Jeana secured an internship at the Lowell Court House, an invaluable experience in helping her adjust her career path.

When the pandemic hit, Jeana was about to embark on a new role when the world as we knew it changed. As businesses were trying to determine the length and effect of COVID-19, Jeana’s job offer was rescinded, and ‘pivot’ became the word of the pandemic.

Jeana pivoted and jumped in to help her husband run his pizza shop in Tewksbury. Take out became a significant business opportunity and Jeana was all in to help manage the business while navigating the additional challenges of the pandemic, including remote learning for their two children.

With a lot going on in the world, Jeana was thinking about what was next for her career. As she prepared for her next challenge, she reached out to a dear friend, a photographer, for a new headshot for her LinkedIn profile. The photographer and friend Michelle, a Bell Tower CRE group tenant, had just been touring 60 Island Street with Gary Sidell and knew he was looking for an Executive Assistant. Michelle made the introduction and Jeana joined Gary in what is now Bell Tower Commercial Real Estate Group.

Fast forward, Jeana is a licensed commercial real estate broker and thoroughly enjoys commercial real estate as Sales Agent and Marketing Coordinator at the firm. She leverages her skills and experience, including her strengths of listening and communication, to help her clients achieve their goals. Jeana has been instrumental in the transformation of 63 Park Street in Andover, project managing this property, working closely with the property owner and attracting tenants to make this a vibrant property in downtown Andover.

She loves how Bell Tower CRE Group is committed to community; helping to envision and transform properties to serve the neighborhoods and the surrounding areas. Her office is at 60 Island Street which to her epitomizes the value that Bell Tower CRE Group brings, including vision and community building. The transformed historic mill building houses many initiatives and businesses including entrepreneurs pursuing their version of the American Dream.

In addition to her career, Jeana is a mom, and to be more specific: a hockey mom. Her kids have been skating since they could walk and she juggles, like all parents, to get them to their respective ice times while showing property and taking care of tenants. Jeana’s first child AJ passed away at birth and recently would have celebrated his 16th birthday on March 18th. His memory is alive in the family with her two children, Angelina a freshman in high school and Angelo a sixth grader. She says she has one Angel in heaven and two angels on earth, explaining the names.

Traveling is something Jeana loves – and of all the places she’s visited, her favorite is Martha’s Vineyard and specifically the Children’s Memorial Lighthouse in Edgartown, MA where there is a stone in memory of AJ. Jeana and her family have made amazing memories there over the years and they always look forward to their annual trip.

Jeana DeBenedetto

Jeana converted her family’s personal tragedy into a non-profit foundation for bereaved mothers – The ACDK Hope Foundation — so that no parent leaves the hospital empty handed after the death of a baby at birth. This foundation epitomizes the character of Jeana and her desire to help others, including in a time of unimaginable grief. Her friends and founders, Julie and Christine, also lost children at birth and the foundation represents the children’s initials: AJ (Mom Jeana), Chase (Mom Julie), Dakota (Mom Christine) and Kenley (Mom Julie and twin of Chase).

When not working or being a mom, Jeana’s happy place is gardening. It is the one place she is OK to have dirt under her manicured nails; the place that she connects to Mother Earth while feeling rewarded and fulfilled for her digging in the dirt. Spring is one of her favorite times of year as Mother Nature awakens. While she has many roses, peonies and hydrangeas, there is not one particular favorite. She has a memorial garden for AJ where love and peace roses bloom to remind her of her angel.

Jeana DeBenedetto

Jeana does not hesitate when asked what her superpower would be: without a pause it would be teleporting. She wants to be able to be in multiple places at the same time, and quickly!  I think many working parents would relate to this wish.
